A Day Tour to Petra and Wadi Rum from Eilat or Aqaba

Early in the morning our representatives will meet  you at the border in either Arava or Aqaba and assist you in the visa process. You will then travel to Wadi Rum (1.5 hours), where we will explore the desert in a 2-hour jeep tour. We will drive to Petra for lunch, then guide you through the main sites of the ancient city, through the Siq to the Treasury (Al Kazneh), the Roman Theater, the colonnaded Roman road (Cardo) and the museum. In late afternoon, we will head back to the border and Eilat.[/tab] [tab]

General information about the tour to Petra and Wadi Rum from Aqaba/ Eilat

Trip notes (important)

  • The tour is a private tour.
  • We will provide an English-speaking driver, but he will not do the guiding in Petra.
  • The guide for Petra will join you in Petra only for the regular tour.
  • Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant, but a nicer restaurant can be arranged for extra cost.
  • The quoted price does not include a tip for the horse driver if you choose to have a horse ride in Petra.
  • A ride in a horse-drawn carriage at Petra is not included in the tour, but can be provided for an extra $US 30.
  • A tour of Aqaba tour is optional, depending on timing.
  • The Arava Border is open from 06:30-20:00 (Sun-Thu) and 08:00-20:00 (Fri-Sat). It is closed on Yom Kippur and the Muslim New Year.
  • You will walk several kilometers  in Petra over uneven terrain. Please bring suitable walking shoes and a backpack to hold drinks, cameras, etc.
  • The jeep tour in Wadi Rum will be in old 4×4 jeeps without air conditioning.
  • Excursions in Wadi Rum in addition to the standard itinerary can be arranged, but these will cost extra.

Prices

Prices are quoted in US dollars per person per trip and valid until December 2014.

Payment Policy

Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible so we can make the appropriate arrangements.

Your booking will be secured upon receiving a deposit of 25%, or, during the Christmas and New Year holidays, a deposit of 50%. This deposit is part of your final payment. Deposits can only be made by wire transfer or through Western Union.

Jordan  Entry Visas

To enter Jordan, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your scheduled departure date. Visas can be obtained in advance from the Jordanian Consulate in your country of origin, or upon arrival at a Jordanian airport for USD 30 (20-40 JOD depending on the season, payable in Jordanian dinar). Please check for any special conditions attaching to your nationality beforehand.

Tipping

It is customary in Jordan to express satisfaction and gratitude for good service by giving a tip. A tip is much appreciated by guides, drivers, cleaning staff, etc., but tipping is not obligatory and the amount is up to the tipper’s discretion.
