Meet and assist at Taba, transfer to St. Catherine in South Sinai – Visit the Monastery of St. Catherine at the base of Mount Sinai, trace the route of the Exodus along the eastern Sinai coast to Wadi Feiran where the Children of Israel withstood the Amalekites.

Travel to Elim where the Children of Israel camped by the oasis of 70 palm trees, your final stop of the day will be Marah by the Red Sea where the “waters were bitter”, continue to Cairo, for dinner and overnight.

Cairo – Tour,

After breakfast, you will start your sightseeing by visiting the Pyramids of Giza.

Cheops (Khufu) Pyramid, largest of the three, was built in the 3rd Dynasty about 2690 BC, and is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. In front of the Pyramid of Chephren (Khafre), we find the Sphinx carved from a single piece of stone.

It is a lion with a Pharaoh’s head thought to be a portrait of the pharaoh Chephren.

Enjoy a camel ride by the Pyramids area (Optional), then continue with visit to the Citadel of Salah El-Din, the Mohammed Ali Mosque, and the “medieval bazaars” of Khan-El-Khalili, where you bargain and buy jewelry and hand-tooled leather items, then return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Cairo,

After breakfast, start your full day guided tour with a visit to the church of Zeitoun, here in 1968 a vision of Mary was seen by hundreds of thousands of people. Continue your tour at Old Cairo and visit the famous Hanging Church with its breathtaking icons and the synagogue of Ben Ezra that marks the spot where it is believed Moses was found by the Pharaoh’s daughter.

Then visit the cave under what is now the Greek cemetery where the Holy Family hid from the soldiers of King Herod. Then visit the church of Maadi on the Nile, and the trip will continue to the church at Mostord that is built over a cave. Continue your visit to the famed tree of Mary in Matariya, then return to Cairo to your hotel for overnight stay.

Cairo – Wadi El Natroun,

After breakfast, another full day guided tour to Wadi Natrun on the famed desert road, it is here that you will see the magnificent monasteries of Al-Sorian, Al-Baramose and Al-Anba Bishoi and, if permission is granted, the monastery of Abu Maker. These are functioning monasteries where you will meet monks who will colorfully present the history of these incredible bastions of spirituality. Return to Cairo hotel for overnight stay.

Cairo – Aswan – Nile Cruise,

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and transfer to Cairo Domestic airport for a flight to Aswan. Transfer to your hotel and then to your luxury Nile cruise boat for check-in. Visit the Aswan High Dam, Egypt’s contemporary example of building on a monumental scale, followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilka. Your next visit will be to the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples, and still hold a huge unfinished obelisk. Lunch is served on board while sailing to Kom Ombo, where you will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank. Continue sailing to Edfu for dinner and overnight stay.

Edfu – Luxor,

On the afternoon, explore the largest and most completely preserved Pharaonic – albeit Greek-built – temple in Egypt, the extraordinary Temple of Horus at Edfu. Free time on board, enjoy the sailing while your vessel cruises onwards to Esna, then sail to Luxor for dinner and overnight stay.

Luxor,

After an early breakfast on board, you will start with a visit to the West Bank of Luxor to explore the Valley of the Kings, a vast City of the Dead where magnificent, richly decorated tombs were carved into the desert rocks and filled with treasures for the afterlife by generations of Pharaohs. You will also see the Valley of the Queens, then visit Hatshepsut Temple, rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces. The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Ancient Egypt’s only female Pharaoh) merges with the limestone cliffs that surround it, as if nature herself had built this extraordinary monument. On the way back to the river Nile, your road passes by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn. Lunch is served on board while you cruise towards Edfu passing by Esna Lock. Take a relaxing afternoon tea on one of the upper decks of your boat. Dinner and overnight on board.

Luxor – Cairo,

Start in the early morning with a guided tour to the East Bank of Luxor, starting with the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun, then proceed to the Temple of Karnak, built over more than a thousand years by generations of Pharaohs. The great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars, covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral. Next, transfer to Luxor Domestic airport for a flight back to Cairo with hotel stay overnight.
